I agree that good journalists have a passion for telling other people's stories. Keep this one handy too: "Don’t give away all your story in a pitch. Make it so the story cannot be completed without you, however cynical that is."

"If we don’t have a healthy journalism sector in our society people won’t know what’s real and what’s not real," Microsoft Vice President Mary Snapp said, in a Q&A about...
"Modeled on Microsoft’s TechSpark civic investment program, the journalism initiative provides funding for news outlets, free and discounted technology, training, and increased content distribution through Microsoft apps and services."
Microsoft executive admits that they are learning as they go along. but believe that the investment is critical to democracy.
